25GB of free storage from MediaMax
I have just come across MediaMax, an online service which describes itself as "The worlds largest online media center". You can sign up for a free account which will give you 25GB of storage space for you to upload music, video and image files and also comes with a mail service which aims to simplify the sending of large files via email. The site itself is nicely designed, and the user interface is modeled around that of what you would come to expect from a web mail service which makes hosting and deleting files a snap. You can also create new directories to categorise the files you are hosting, so you are able to have separate sections for your movies, music and images and even sub directories for defining things such as specific genres for each category. You can even create play lists and play video and music within the user interface. I would describe Mediamax as a cross between ftp and web mail. It functions much like ftp with an interface very similar to that of most web mail services and allows you to share your files either as whole attachments or as links, in case the recipients inbox is full or limited to a certain send/receive file size.
